Mad about type
I’ve loved letters since I was a child, and soon I became a regular visitor at the local public library.
When I started my education as a typesetter, I was taught how to look at letters professionally, at their different shapes and styles. I was lucky to start with hot metal types, and to hold letters as objects in my hands impressed me deeply.
In my graphic design studio TYPOSITION. I work every day with two-dimensional letters. With tüpo, I’m taking a different approach, transforming everyday objects into the shape of letters. The longer I work on this idea, the longer gets my list of possible “transformations” …
With my work, I’m always surprised and very happy to see how deeply people are related to letters and the feedback I’m getting is very positive.
In a TV interview I was asked “So can one say that you are a little mad about type?” – Absolutely!
Welcome to tüpo!
